Success Stories

I often see many homeless men as I travel each week back and forth to college. I decided to place a Bible along with a couple granola bars, and a bottle of water in zip-lock bags and give them out to the homeless.
Inside the Bible I write a small message to the recipient "Dear Friend, Jesus Love you with all his heart. If YOU were the only one on Earth, God would have Still sent his son to die for YOU!"
And I highlight a few loved scriptures of mine.
I am considering starting a small non-profit to give bibles and small care packages to the homeless.
One man began to cry and said "God Bless you. I have not eaten in a week."
I am so glad the Lord has put this on my heart because I have been blessed so deeply through this ministry!

Hi! I am the Chaplain at Arizona State Prison, Apache Yard, near St. Johns AZ. I received 4 cases of your Bibles from a friend, and placed 2 of them in the Visitation area. 2 Cases went on my bookshelf for the inmates to use on the yard. All of the yard Bibles
were gone within 3 weeks. Some of the Visitation bibles left with visitors, and some with the inmates. Thank you for providing these Bibles. Keep up the good work.

—Rev. Billy

My name is Mark and I am an evangelist in Denver,Co.I lead a team every week that goes and shares the gospel with the lost in downtown Denver and these bibles are so great to just give away.Especially as we have a time of prayer and bible study right in the middle of what is called the 16th st mall and people come in from all around and are curious as to what we are doing. So when they sit down and desire to get involved in the study we have these bibles ready to give away and they can take them home with them after they hear the biblical gospel they can go and read more about the God who came to save them.

I had been praying to God for guidance in how best to spread his word, and it came to me that handing out bibles was the way to do it. I had no idea about these particular bibles, but I found them and have been them out every since. It is quite fulfilling, and I feel that I am doing God's will.

Praise God, I puchased some Bibles online for a dollar and distributed them throughout the country. I am looking to purchase more through the Ministry and continue to distribute Bibles and take the Gospel of Christ throughout the world. WWW.FFTM.ORG

Our youth are involved in the AWANA program, last night 10/31/07 cars parked with trunks up with treats for the kids for saying a Bible verse. The youth may dress as Bible characters. Instead of buying all candy our Women's Ministry gave out Bibles to all that needed or wanted one. Thank You for an affordable way to get the Word out.

—Linda

Hi, I didn't buy any bibles from you but I have a story concerning one. I was in the library looking at the free books on the "free shelf" when I saw your $1 bible. I picked it up thinking it was a shame to throw it out. I opened it up and saw the name Brian. I got an idea, now I'm going to put a bible back on the shelf with my name in it and a message to pass it on. I'm going to get more people interested in the bible...if I can. After all I'm only 14 and all of my friends make fun of me for being Christian.

I have become friends with a pastor in Sierra Leone, West Africa. This country is recovering from a bloody ten-year civil war and is very poor. Although primarily Muslim, the people are hungry for the gospel. For example, Pastor Momoh recently led 80 people to Jesus, but they cannot afford Bibles as they subsist on an income of less than $1 per day. At the wonderful low price these Bibles are being offered, I was able to send 20 Bibles to Sierra Leone and hope to send more soon. Your Bibles are reaching around the world. Thank you for pricing them so low.

—Debra

Thank you for making this great opportunity avaiable! Every year, folks from our church serve dinner at a homeless shelter on Christmas Day. The men always prepare gift bags of toiletries and face clothes so the men will know that someone loves and cares about them. This past year, we were also able to give 80 men a Bible! As a result, we showed Jesus' love by meeting both their physical and spiritual needs.

—David

I am invovled in prison ministry and this allows me to place a Bible, to those that would like one in the hands of each man there. THANK YOU and GOD BLESS YOUR WORK!!

—Rev. Patricia

I am a part of a thriving music ministry called JudaMuzik Inc. We ordered 100 bibles and have managed to give them all away since May. During our last concert 26 souls came to the Lord and we gave them each a bible and bible study that we created. Glory to God!

My story begins, when the one year ann. is coming around the coner, what do you give the man of your dreams for the one year. Most often it is some sort of paper. well, I ponder to try to find that perfect gift. Well, I found that one gift. The Bible. What better can one get, this is something he will look at for years to come and go. An in it is the words of God, that can guide him/Us through the years of life that we spend together. Then after we pass, it would be handed on to one of our Little ones that can read it,live it,learn it, and more. For this I pray is the best gift he will ever get in Our life as one.

—Melinda

Thank you for making your Bibles affordable and easy to get. We declared June 3, 2007 as "Bread of Life" Sunday. In a white plasitc bag, we put your Bible and a small loaf of homemade bread (made by a man in our church who is a baker)along with a letter offering prayer, etc. Then the folks in the church went out and put our gift on the door of every house in our small town of Shanksville, Pennsylvania (about 110 dwellings). The bag was inscribed "A Gift for You from your friends at Shanksville Assembly of God" and the scripture reference from Matthew 4:4 "Man does not live by bread alone." The next day, I received four responses thanking us for our special gifts. Of course, only time will tell of the eternal effects of our efforts.

By the way, Shanksville is where United Flight 93 crashed on September 11, 2001.

—Rev. Sylvia

As a prison ministry volunteer, there have been many, many women in the last 3 years who have asked for a Bible. Because there are no funds at our local prison for gospel materials, I have purchased hundreds of Bibles myself; and my church has also helped with purchasing them. Your offering them for $1 each is so awesome, because it allows me to give more. God bless you for this wonderful opportunity that you give others!

—Bonnie

Hi,
My fiancee and I are hoping to be able to purchase a 100 plus Bibles to give away at our wedding on July 7 as gifts to our unsaved friends and family. We were praying about an affordable way to do this and we realized that our church, Horizon Christian Fellowship in San Diego, is a part of the million Bible challenge. I am wondering how to purchase the Bibles for one dollar each. Thank you so much and may the Lord continue to use you and this amazing ministry to further our Father's Kingdom. God bless you,

I just sent 20 copies of the NKJV to the Charity Preparatory School in Ghana, West Aftica to bess 20 students there. I know God's Word will not return void. God Bless You and the studens who receive the Bibles

My son who joined the military last year
had given me this box full of Bibles.
He knows I love to share the love of Jesus to everyone so, when he came home to visit from his camp, he gave me this assignment.
I was surprised that he had grow much in love with our Lord too.
I am in touch with customers at work, so,it was not long before I could finish distributing the Bible. The last being
left in my van. When I visited a friend's church, they were having a luncheon after the service. At the same
table I was seated, I asked the group if they knew anyone who needs a Bible. Well,I was right on target, a man from Sudan, whom they had been sharing the gospel was so glad to know I could share the Bible to him. I gave it and everyone thought it was a miracle that it was just the right timing I came to be with them. God always knows who is in need and He will use us when we are willing to serve. I am so glad my son is being used by God in the Army distributing Bible and I'm so eager to help him do this.

God has called me to develop A Walk In His Light Ministries, a ministry of praise and worship through the arts for Him. Late in 2006 I had a desire to buy several cases of these bibles. When the time came to order I bought 20 cases but did not know why. Since then I have given bibles away across several states to individuals and to other ministries. A Walk In His Light Ministries will continue in the bible ministry for as long as He needs. This has been a surprise aspect of the ministry, but a very rewarding one.

—Michael

We have been passing out million dollar bill tracts from www.livingwaters.com and get many smiles, laughs, and interest with a "thanks!" when we give them one. There are many corners we stop by at red lights with homeless people who my heart just breaks for. I have prayed about this and truly feel that I should wrap these Bibles up with a million dollar bill tract from livingwaters.com enclosed and give to them as we stop at red lights. My two oldest children who are 3 and 4 yr old (we have 4 kids, 4 yr and under) have become very interested in exposing souls to the Word by passing out the million dollar tracts as well and look for opportunities. They are introverted so this is quite the blessing to see such tender hearts at a young age wanting to put the Truth into peoples' hands. In searching for inexpensive Bibles, we went to www.cbd.com to find this Bible and are very excited about our vision for passing out Bibles able to become a reality. Being a family on one income, this is a wonderful ministry you are doing to help people with a heart for missions be able to fulfill the Great Commission.

—Courtney

I have just recently decided to give away Bibles during witnessing. I was giving away Gospel Tracts only, but realized there is NOTHING more powerful than the living word of GOD. I just jumped online to find the cheapest Bibles I could that contained the NT and OT... and here I found $1 Bibles. Than you for your contribution to get the Word of God to anyone who needs it.

—James

I work in a medical office. We have put framed prints on the exam room walls that ask "Have you had a Spiritual Check-up"... "ask your doctor for more information" If the patient asks,we share the gospel with them and we give them a Bible (from the sample room;as it's the best medicine we can give anyone.)We have given away at least a dozen since starting this in December, it's exciting to follow up with these people!! I pray we continue to need more Bibles!!

—Laurie

WE HAVE A HARDWARE STORE/LUMBER YARD/HOME CENTER, WHICH MIGHT SEEM LIKE AN UNLIKELY PLACE TO OBTAIN A BIBLE. BUT THIS YEAR, INSTEAD OF GIVING CALENDARS, WE PUT BIBLES ON THE COUNTER WITH A "FREE BIBLES" SIGN. WE PRAYED OVER THEM THAT GOD WOULD HAVE PEOPLE WHO WOULD READ THEM TAKE THEM, AND WE HAVE BEEN SO PLEASED TO SEE SO MANY PEOPLE PICK THEM UP AND TAKE THEM WITH THEM. WE HAVE RECEIVED MANY POSITIVE COMMENTS FROM CUSTOMERS. ONE WOMAN SAID, "YES, I WOULD LIKE ONE. IT'S BEEN A LONG TIME SINCE I'VE READ ONE." ANOTHER MOTHER TOOK TWO "TRUTH FOR YOUTH" BIBLES FOR HER TEENAGERS, WHOM SHE SAID "REALLY NEEDED THEM."
WE ALSO GIVE BIBLES TO A PASTOR THAT VISITS FROM THE PHILIPPINES EACH WINTER TO TAKE BACK WITH HIM TO A BIBLE SCHOOL THERE, WHERE AS HARD AS IT IS TO BELIEVE, HE TELLS US MANY STUDENTS DO NOT HAVE BIBLES.
WE ALSO HAVE A DEDICATED AREA IN OUR BUILDING THAT IS USED SPECIFICALLY FOR BIBLE STUDY, AND IS ADVERTISED WEEKLY IN OUR TOWN NEWSPAPER. NEXT TO THE BIBLE STUDY ROOM IS A CHRISTIAN FREE LENDING LIBRARY WHERE BIBLES ARE ALSO GIVEN TO THOSE THAT WANT THEM.
WE ARE SO HAPPY THAT THESE BIBLES HAVE BEEN MADE AVAILABLE AT SUCH AN AFFORDABLE PRICE. THANK YOU.

—VALERIE

These complete and low-cost Bibles make it easy for the local church's youth group to distribute them. I have seen many gospel friends read and use them. There is no doubt that God is working through them by His Word.

Perhaps you'll find this interesting: I have been in ministry in South Lebanon for many years. Prior to that I was in the Beirut area. We normally give out Arabic Bibles, of course, but we purchased two cases of Bibles from you in English (NKJV) and have given them to South Lebanese students as well as UN peronnel in this area. Please pray for us as God is opening the hearts and minds of many in this area. He is also raising up the younger generation here to continue as ambassadors for Christ.
Our work is entirely in the area where the July / August war took place. I am putting in a US postal code but am primarily in South Lebanon.
Thank you for the work you do.

Our church has been trying to find creative ways to spread the gospel throughout our community. On December 9th we invited the community to "Breakfast with Santa". Everything was absolutely free from the pancakes to arts and crafts with the "elves". We advertised that every child would get a picture with Santa and a special gift. Through this event our small church distributed about 150 bibles in a two hour span. Thank you for producing an economic ministry tool that allowed us to make sure that each child recieved one of the most important gifts they could ever recieve...truth.

—Jeremy

Hi there. My daughter and I wanted her birthday to be special. She was to have a sumber party for her ninth birthday. We were to make a prayer pillowcase with markers and a white pillowcase drawing pictures of family members and friends to pray for at bedtime. We wanted one more thoughtful project to do. Then we saw the Bibles at Mardels' Bible Book Store in Oklahoma City. I thought this would be perfect for the slumber party. My daughter agreed and we bought a box of 20 Bibles. At the slumber party the girls decorated the Bibles with construction paper and then personalized them. I then covered each one with a clear protective covering. Then the girls each had a new Bible as a take home gift. They could keep it, as some did not own a Bible, or those that had one were challenged to give the Bible to someone who did not have one. All the girls really loved doing this and it was a wonderful way to share the Word of God with others. Helping to spread the word of God.

It's now 2006. But looking back, it must have been around wintertime of 1998 in western New York state in the USA. I was working for a company in the data entry department. I was keying customer subscriptions for computer magazines. It was the only day, that I can remember, that I actually ran out of things to enter. So a co-worker and I were told to open mail for a Polaroid camera project that the company also had at the time. In the process of opening the mail, I came across a letter. It was from a 13 year old boy who lived in Ghana, West Africa named Prosper. He was saying that he was a Christian, and wanted a scientific calculator from Polaroid (who doesn't sell calculators) because he needed it for school. He was quoting the King James Bible. He was very confident in his letter that Jesus would provide him with a calculator. I slipped the letter in my pocket and took it home. I mailed him a calculator, one American dollar, and a small bag of M&M's. I could imagine the look on his parents faces when he ACTUALLY received a calculator! Four or five months later I received a letter from Prosper, and eventually from his mom (Veronica), his sister (Gifty), and Prosper's best friend Edem.
If any other person that I know of working at that company would've received Prosper's letter, it would've been thrown in the trash. I was the only Christian working there (that I know of) out of the 300-400 employees. This was a devine appointment.

It's now years later, and we still write to eachother, and e-mail a couple of times a week.

Prosper has been making a list of people in Ghana who need a Bible, and Edem also needed over 30 for his current Bible study group. And why stop there? I will send as many as I can. Over 60 bibles are being shipped this week!!!

I hope Nelson doesn't stop making the paperback $1.00 NKJV Bibles!!!! They are going to help change Ghana!!!!

To check out pictures of Prosper and his mother and sister, and Edem, check out my personal webpage for them at www.geocities.com/prosperandedem/mypage.html

We hope to all meet SOMEDAY in Ghana. And it will be an "Oprah" moment for sure! There will be many tears of joy!

Working at a hospital as a crisis intervention counselor, I meet many people who are at the "end of their rope" with many types of problems. Now that spirituality is becoming more acceptable as an important ingredient of mental health, I have been allowed to give Nelson's Serenity Bibles to my patients. Many of which who never owned a Bible before. Praise God's power and grace!

—Todd

Hello Friend in Christ, We first must say thank you! Your product has greatly blessed our ministry. My husband and I hold Bible study classes at the Macomb County Jail,MI. Every other Sunday morning. Due to the Jail having to cut back expenses they cut out most of the bible distribution. We went on a personal search for good affordable bibles, dollar store after dollar store, we would clean them out. Then one day at the Discount Bible Bookstore in Warren, Mi. We found the NKJV, we couldn't believe it:), thank you Jesus. We can even buy them a case at a time:) Pray that we can put a bible in every inmates hand we meet!
Thank you again! And may God richly bless you!!!
Sincerely in Christ,
Nathan and Yvonne

I bought 100 bibles for $100 last October. I placed tracts in them and gave them out at our Fall Festival in the kids goodie bags. They were all really impressed to be getting a REAL BIBLE (their parents were too).
We had some left over and I gave them out during Vacation Bible School last June.
I'm back for more this year and planning on continuing the tradition for as long as your bible supply holds out!
Thanks for such a great resource!

I am the Athletic Director and Head Football Coach at Axtell High School in Axtell, Texas. I am also the FCA Huddle Leader. We have about 60 kids that come to FCA. One of the student leaders that plays for me told me that several of the kids did not have Bibles. When I told my wife that I wanted to get the kids some Bibles we decided to try to get some people to donate them. We opened the Sunday Newspaper and saw an advertisement for $1.00 Bibles at Mardels. I went the next day and bought 50 Bibles and 20 DVD's. I am passing them out tomorrow morning at FCA. What a blessing.

—Mike

we work at a medical office in Brownwood Texas and we put out bibles in our waiting room with a sign that says please take one if you need it or if you know someone who needs a bible. We have given away three cases in the past 10 months.

In August of 2005 I ran across these Bibles at a Book Store. God impressed upon me that our church needed to pass these Bibles out at the Tri-State Fair in September. I challenged our church, they responed and within 45 minutes at the fair we passed out 300 Bibles. On September 17, 2006 we will again be passing out Bibles. We have 640 Bibles that we will be passing out in less than 2 hours. God promises that His word will change peoples lives. My church members have been changed just by passing out these Bibles. We will never know how many people will come because of this project. Thanks for making God's Word affordable to anyone who wishes to read it.
Thanks,
Bro Geary Martin

Praise God for your provision of the Gospel at such an affordable price. A group of us within the church are visiting the homeless each fortnight and providing them with food, blankets, clothing and most importantly a bible (wrapped as a gift) we are sharing the gospel with them, praying with them and reminding them that they are loved and not forgotton.

We were told that many people on the streets are stealing each others bible because they are so desperate for the word!!

May the lord bless you for your faithfullness!

God bless you all

God told me to start giving away Bibles when I was only twelve. I started with 50 pocket size king james Bibles, and gave them away to my nurses and doctors when I had a 15 day hospital stay due to physical abuse. Since then, I have continued witnessing to people the love of Jesus, but my
unofficial Bible ministry really exploded last January 2005 when I heard about the million Bible challenge. I started buying Bibles 60 at a time, and passing them out, one at a time, but I never gave a Bible away until they got saved first. At 19, God called me to attend Texas Bible Institute, and because your Bibles are being offered for only a dollar, I have been able to give away over 1900 Bibles just this past year, from September 05- September 06. God always supernaturally provides me with the finances, and I buy and give away.Yesterday I just ordered 300 more from Christian Book Distributors, and will buy more when I run out!! Thank you so much for glorifying God in this way. I believe with all my heart that every single person on the face of this earth should own a Bible, which is why I believe in this outreach enough to do it myself. I may be a nothing to the world, but I am something to God, and that is all I need to know to tell the world about Who He is. God bless you, and keep up the good work!!!

-Sarah in Texas

I work here at a city rescue mission, a 30 day homeless shelter in Albany. As I have the blessed opportunity to lead someone to Christ, I give them a copy of the NKJV version of the Bible that we get from you people. I am impressed with the quality of the publications and I am grateful that we can get them for such a reasonable price. I have just received a new shipment of the Bibles as I type this letter. Because of these Bibles I can now afford to give every man who requests one, a free Bible, courtesy of the rescue mission. God bless you, keep up the great work till our Lord returns.

- Pastor Lou

As Director of Prison Ministries for Lake Avenue Churh in Pasadena California we have distributed hundreds of your bibles to the youth at our local Juvenile Halls. We have had hundreds pray to receive Christ as well! Since we are on a limited budget, these bibles are perfect for our ministry. Praise the Lord for making them available to us at these prices.

—Pat in California

I just opened our second case...... The Bibles have gone in two directions. First my daughter is in high school.... the students have a locker that is full of "reading materials" that could get students in trouble..... My girl puts a Bible in the locker and when someone takes the Bible she replaces it. We have also been giving Bibles to homeless that beg and sleep on our streets. It has been a blessing to see my child find ways to share her faith..... In Christ,

—Karen in Texas

I'm about to transition to a different job so I bought a box of Bibles and on top of each Bible put a large chocolate bar, then secured it to the Bible with a ribbon. I'm going to give them to my fellow employees when I leave as goodbye presents. I'm not sure what the response will be, but I think it's always good to try. Thanks for having such good deals on Bibles!

—Keturah in New Hampshire

We have been displaying the bibles on our counter at work for about 8 months. We have given out approx. 300 bibles so far. Just leaving them on the counter as a free gift has allowed people who cannot afford a bible to have one and give them as gifts to others. God says that His Word will not return to Him void. There are going to be at least 300 people that will come to the Lord over this. I'm just happy to be a part of it. It's an easy way to evangelize and not have to be scared to talk to people.

—Richard in Kansas

I LOVE YOUR BIBLES!! 1$ That is incredible! I have bought 50 so far! Such a place of joy!! I gave 20 to my church and they were soo happy! They gave me one when I first came to their church and did not have a bible on me. Then I gave 2 to my friend she was delighted that I gave them to her for FREE. Then, I gave 8 to my neighbor, and she was filled with joy. She was especially happy when her boyfriend took one and was interested in it. Then, I gave 5 to my sister's sponsee (from AA) in her easter gift bag. I have 15 left over, I'll keep you posted as to how it goes. I LOVE YOU!! JESUS LOVES YOU!! Love in Jesus,

—Kimberly in California

These one dollar Bibles have opened up so many opportunities to get God’s word out; it’s so amazing. I am a public school substitute teacher and many of the students have to read silently for fifteen minutes. What’s so cool is that I put them out there for students to read if they like and the students are always fascinated to see a Bible. They always ask me where they should read at and the Holy Spirit is always at work with the Word of God in their hands. Many students take them and start reading them at home. It’s totally crazy. God is so awesome and mind blowing. Heck yeah!!!

—Tim in California

Someone challenged our youth to distribute 10000 Bibles from Jan 1 2006 until Easter this year. After the first 5000 came in, I was really frustrated, the youth just didn't seem real interested, but we decided to take a few cases to a local youth event. I really didn't expect many there to need or want a Bible but after we gave out 3000 in two weekends I really got excited. I have never had so much fun or found it easier to witness than thru this challenge. It is now March 15, and tonight we gave away our 10,000 Bible. The church, kids and even skeptical counselors have had a great time and are wondering if we can give 5000 more away before Easter.

—Robert in Tennessee

Our ministry recently received several boxes of the Thomas Nelson Bibles and we have begun taking requests from prisoners or their loved [ones]. We are sending them into the prisons via request. I absolutely love this aspect of our ministry. I hope we will be able to replenish the supply of Bibles to keep sending. Thank you and God Bless.

—Rose in Indiana

I like to challenge my kids with small community service work projects. Recently we went with a couple of ladies from our church to a nearby park where the homeless sometimes hang out. There we distributed 30+ bags of lunch items/goodies and prayed with several of the individuals. After seeing an ad where we could order the bibles for $1.00, we ordered 30 bibles to hand out with their lunch bags at our next visit. My oldest daughter was excited and plans to help hand them out. This is a great, inexpensive way to distribute the word of God to the homeless.

—Renda in South Carolina

My son Jaimae, who is in prison, ordered and paid for these Bibles and sent them to me and my sister for us to pass out to the homeless, etc. Well I contacted Healing Waters Church, who has a prison ministry, and they will be delivering these bibles to prisoners next month. I typed up an insert (with his prison address) to accompany the Bibles, stating where and who they were sent from. I know this will touch and change many lives in prison and maybe my son will hear from some of them and they will share their story with him and together they can reach out to other inmates who need to know GOD IS THE ANSWER!! Please keep my son and his walk with God in your prayers. From a praying mothers heart, "I know God answers prayers, in His time and place!!" Thank you on belhalf of my son's Love and Walk with God.

—Ellen & Teresa in Colorado

I would also like to thank you for this fantastic program. I have personally purchased 1,000 Bibles and our church has purchased another 1,000. I would like to see us buy an additional 5,000 while this program is ongoing. What a great way to be able to share the Word and to reach lost souls for the Kingdom. May God bless your company for this wonderful opportunity you are providing.

—Rev. Inman in Texas

About a year ago, my wife and I started giving Bibles away in flea markets. Basically, we set up a table in a well traveled spot with Bibles and Christian literature on it and a sign that lets everybody know that the material is free. So far we only have tables in 2 flea markets, but we're praying for the means to get in some more flea markets. We try to keep English and Spanish Bibles out on the tables all the time and when we can afford it we also put out Adult and Children's books and literature. Between the two flea markets, we probably average buying 20 to 40 Bibles per week. Being able to buy Bibles for a dollar a piece has been a tremendous blessing, thank you so much. Without your program, I don't know if we could have kept this going. I'm hoping and praying you can do this challenge again.

Thanks again and may GOD Bless you for this great program

—Tommy in North Carolina

Our church, Mount Beulah Baptist, has a food bank/closet where people come to receive food distributed for the needy. Our goal is to feed the hungry. We also wish to feed them the Word. We have distributed approximately 75 Bibles since May, 2005. Many of these are to children who have never had a Bible and are so pleased to have their very own. These people have difficulty purchasing food each month and have no funds for extras such as Bibles. Thank you for making these Bibles available at a price we can give them to them along with the food.

—Virginia in South Carolina

My mother and brother routinely minister at Juvenile Hall in Sacramento County. Every December, the Praise Team from Calvary First Assembly of God in Stockton, California, join them to give the young men incarcerated there a Christmas party. We feed them food, the Word of God, testimonies, preaching and praise and worship music. This past December, my mother purchased 40 Bibles to give to the young men as Christmas presents. More than 30 out of the 40 young men we ministered to accepted Jesus as their Lord and Savior and all the young men received a Bible.

—Terry in California

I bought 2 cases of the bibles from the Book Outlet here in Leesburg, Va. I have a Gift Ministry, that I call, "Encouragement from the Heart". For Christmas I made Gifts for 2 homeless Shelters, and a warming shelter. There were 11 men and 3 wm. and a little 8 yr. old boy.. I put the Bibles in each Gift. There were 9 Mothers I made Baskets w/the Bible, perfume samples, and other nice things. There were children from 16-4mos. old.(14 in all). There were 14 men, in a container I put a Bible, CD, tracks, and snacks. I also make Gift Baskets for Dancers at Strip Clubs. I always put Bibles in their Gifts as well.

—Linda in Virginia

Our ladies group at church decided to put together Christmas bags for the Rescue Mission downtown. I wanted to add some Bibles to the bags, but I knew they had to be small as the men have to leave the mission during the day and carry all they own on their backs until evening. I went to Lifeway Christian Bookstore here and after looking around I talked to the man behind the counter. When I told him what I wanted to do, he asked how many Bibles I needed. I told him that I wanted to buy 100 Bibles as I had been told their would likely be upwards of ninety men in the mission for the holidays. He showed me your Bibles and I was able to get three cases (132 total) of your small New Testaments. They were marked $2.49 each, and would have cost $328.68 plus tax, but he sold them to me for $.75 each for a total of $99.00 plus tax for a savings of $229.68 plus tax. Praise the Lord for making a way to carry the Word to these poor men. Since I got such a good price on the Bibles I was also able to purchase tracts to insert in each Bible. God is gracious and your Bibles were the perfect size and were in an easy to read format.

—Sherry in Louisiana

I collect Bibles for the local Light and Liberty Jail Ministry. When I was placing an order with Christian Book Distributors for some other items I noticed your Bibles for a dollar so ordered 24. I will be delivering the Bibles to the jail ministry in the next few weeks as they are always asking for Bibles for the ever changing residents at the jail. I do not take part in the actual physical work of the ministry but try to find as many Bibles and Christian reading materials to be distributed by the volunteers that do go into the jail and work directly with the inmates. Inmates of the God's Pod that the ministry works with have had opportunities to change their lives and that is all that is important, not being recognized for giving Bibles.

We recently had the team come and present Heaven's Gates/Hell's Flames at our church and 218 were saved. My sister and I have been FAITH trained, so we set out to visit as many of these as possible. To date we have visited 71 familes and that represents 119 of those svaed. We bought 4 boxes of the Bibles and have been able to give many their first Bible. I have told them to first read the book of John and then call me. Many have called and I tell them read the book of John again. I recommend reading it three times to fully understand the heart of Jesus and our position in him. 31 of these dear new saints have asked us for Bibles to give to their friends and loved ones. My sister and I went back and bought all the boxes our local bookstore had. Thank you for the great quality and awesome price.

In my speech class at my college, I gave my final speech of the year on the person of Christ, namely that He is the Way, the Truth, and the Life.

At the closing of my speech, I encouraged the audience not to judge God based on preconceived notions about Him, on an encounter with a hypocritical Christian, or on a religion/church. I challenged them to investigate God for themselves.

After I finished, I handed out about 20 of the NKJV Bibles which had inside each of them a brochure from my church titled "Is Jesus the Only Way?" and my ministry card with my phone number on it if they wanted to talk more about God.

I work in an international, publically traded company. My site location is the Bay Area of California. At Christmas employees at my site exchange gifts, treats, wine, cards, etc. Rather than giving cards, and to only selected colleagues, I gave a Bible to all 64 people on my floor. It was done in the darkness of after-hours as an anonymous gift. I bookmarked each Bible at page 417 with a fortune-cookie style bookmark which read: "Luke 2:1-17 (page 417) Merry Christmas to All !" In the fashion of Linus in A Charlie Brown Christmas, I gave them a special Chistmas card which shared the true meaning of Christmas.

The next morning I arrived at work to find a division-wide email from our Div manager, apologizing for the gift and any offense that might have been received, plus an assurance that the gift was NOT from, not endoresed, by the company. Those offended were invited to turn the Bible in at a common desk. Many did. But some, with whom I'd unsuccessfully debated the Bible and Christianity before, were seen throughout the day holding, handling, and browsing through the Bible. For those that didn't return it, nor throw it away outright, I pray that they will read it now, or take it home and put it on a shelf because they don't know what else to do with it, until the time is right that they find an appetite to pick it up and investigate it.

I remain anonymous because it's not about who gave it, but rather about what was given. I appreciate VERY MUCH that it was published with little or no financial profit motive, but rather with the motive to encourage distribution.

We gave a friend, Angie, a case of Bibles to distribute at her discretion during the school year. She said she had given away a few of them during the course of the year. But last week she gave one to every girl on her 8th grade volleyball team at the end of season party. She said one of the girls came up to her at the end of the party and told her something she didn’t think she would ever hear in Nashville. The young lady told her that she had always wanted one of those books and she had never had one in her life. Wow! The unreached are all around us aren’t they?

I just started a new outreach ministry called Addiction Freedom Ministry in Long Beach, Ca. I have been buying your bibles from the Christian Light House and have had the blessing to be able to give them away to people everywhere I go. From 12-step self-help group meetings to the car dealership to people on the street. I want to tell you thank you because this allows me the opportunity to give bibles away and have a way to also advertise the ministry. I want you to know I am grateful for your ministry. It has helped with mine. Thank you and God Bless you and yours.

We bought two boxes to pass out on Halloween. We agreed that we would only give them to the older kids and that we would have alot leftover!
Almost every kid that came to the door was "older" and we only had five left! God is so good!

I just came back to Christ in the last 3 years...I've always felt God's call on my life...when I heard about the $1.00 Bibles it just clicked, I knew it's what I'm to do...so I started giving Bibles away on the internet and also started placing them in a local grocery store...the store alone has seen 1 or 2 cases go through! And the internet has grown to the point I'm now sending Bibles all over the US and around the World...Even when the price goes back up I'll keep doing this...The Bible says the the Lord's Word Will Not Return Void...Thank You And Thank God for the 1 million Bible challenge.

Not a story... A thank you!
My son is a pastor to the homeless community. We meet in a park for services. The people who attend the church services have no funds for donations. We supply food, drinks, and Bibles. We had run out of Bibles and needed to purchase more. The price is normally higher than we wanted to spend per Bible. Thank you for helping us with the ministry God has called us to. He does have a way of supplying the need.
Many thanks!!!!

For the past several months, nearly every time I've stopped by The Compass (our local Christian bookstore, and a great one, by the way), I've bought a box of these Bibles. Once I get the box home, I stick a mailing label on it and ship it up to Voice of the Martyrs (www.persecution.com) in Bartlesville, Oklahoma. They in turn ship it to Africa for distribution (mainly in Nigeria, I understand). V.O.M. can use all the Bibles we can send them! (Voice of the Martyrs, 510 S.W. Adeline Avenue, Bartlesville, OK 74003-3722)

The Friday before election day here in New Jersey. Jon Corizine who was running for Governor was to come to a train station near to where I live. I went over early and I prayed God give me a moment with him so I can give him one of the Thomas Nelson Bible's. Well it happened. I turned a corner and Jon Corizine was just arriving getting out of the car. He came right at me and I gave him a Bible. It was a divine moment. It brought me alot of Joy. Jon Corizine went on to win as the next Governor of New Jersey. May Jesus Christ govern him and all of us.

I took a trip to Southern California with my wife to do some volunteer work at a Missions Church for the skidrow homeless of Fifth Street and San Pedro for a little "vacation".

Normally I go to my local Starbucks and preach to people about Jesus. I took your challenge to heart and bought 135 Bibles to distribute. At each gasoline station along the way, after filling up the gas I would give a Thank You tract and then one of your precious Bibles. At the Missions I was given the opportunity to preach to the homeless and each person I preached to I offered a Bible. When I got home I bumped into my mailman and offered him a Bible too. I pray that you will continue this wonderful offer. Believe me, as long as it is available I will take full advantage of this offer. God bless you for such a wonderful idea to reach the lost for Jesus.

People kept asking me what I was going to do to make my 50th birthday special. Some even shared what they had done, extravagant trips, etc.

But, when I saw an ad on the back of our local Christian Book Store I knew what it was that I had to do! Give away 50 bibles by my 50th, what better way to touch people's lives!

The sad part was that after making this committment and receiving these bibles, I found out my mom had terminal CA and had to leave for my "home"
in MN before my birthday would come up, as I would be involved in mom's care.

But the great part was, I took them to church, and my church family managed to give away ALL 50 before my birthday! Pretty fantastic for us normally "frozen chozen Lutherans"! and what a great opportunity you gave us. THANK YOU!

Our church, Wallula Christian, Leavenworth/Lansing, Kansas (an Independent Christian Church) designates November as their Stewardship month. The Finance Committee challenged each and every small group to come up with some type of "project" to complete in the month of November. Our Sunday School Class (adults ages 40-75) chose to gather up items such as wet-wipes, candies, nuts, small games, foot powder, bandannas, Christmas items, etc. and mail those items to our troops from our church families or someone we know serving in Iraq or Afghanistan or anywhere else overseas. (We live in a very military oriented community.) My husband and I hosted a soup night at our home where everyone came to box-up, pack, and wrap fourteen boxes to servicemen. In each box we placed a NKJV Bible. I was so excited to find a case of Bibles at Mardels in Overland Park, Kansas. The price was fabulous!!! Everyone in our group was excited, too. We wrote notes in each one and placed a book mark with the 23rd Psalm printed on it.

Thank you for making the price so perfect for us and for our project.

About 5 months ago I along with 4 other brothers in Christ felt that we were called by God to take back the streets for Jesus. We prayed for Bibles. The prayer was answered when I walked into the church bookstore and saw the $1.00 Bibles. I immediately brought about 5 because it was all they had left. I then took them to the group and we all agreed the Lord had provided. Since then I have brought over 300 bibles by the case. All Glory goes to Jesus. We go to the drug dealers/drug addicts/homeless/and prostitute filled neighnborhoods while they do their buisness (usually from 12am to 5 am.);l We hand out the Bibles and pray with whoever is willing. We tell them about Jesus and so far at least 7 people have been saved. Over 40 Bibles have been handed out, 40 have been donated to another ministry, 100 have been kept by each one in the group for emergencies and the rest are waiting to be handed out. Thank You Jesus for spreading your word and taking back the streets. God bless you guys for printing these Bibles.

We just recently found out about your special $1 Bibles. My husband and I manage a self storage facility. Our business is based on transition, and most of it is not pleasant. We deal daily with people who have just lost a loved one, lost their home, divorcing, etc. We found out about your promotion and really felt led to do something. We purchased a box of your Bibles and put a few on our counter with a sign that reads "Free, take one, pass it on". We've only been doing it a week and we've already had 15 Bibles taken. We know it's just a drop in the ocean, but if one person can benefit it will be wonderful. Thank you so much for making this possible. We hope you will continue this for some time.

We were able to distribute 13 Bibles to children who came to our door on Halloween night. One little girl ran back to her parents car and then came back and said, "There's a little boy in the car who wants a Holy Bible too." I am so thankfull that not only were we able to distribute them, but that the children wanted them.

I am a co-Youth Coordinator at my church, Witherspoon Presbyterian Church in Indianapolis, IN. I saw the bible cases in the local Berean bookstore and was spiritually moved to join the challenge. I sent an email to several friends informing them of the challenge and encouraging them to use them as evangelistic tools. I bought 2 cases (40 bibles) and donated them to my church to distribute among the youth who visit the church. The youth department packed a bible in with the school supplies given to kids during our "Back to School" event. I plan to give out bibles to every child who attends an event at our church this year. Seeing the cases of bibles stacked in the Berean bookstore got my attention and when I saw them on sale for one dollar, I had no excuse not to help spread the Good News!

A local charity was holding a giveaway for needy people. My wife and I had the idea of giving out Bibles at this giveaway. We learned that between 800 and 1200 people come through on this one day. We then discovered, through a local bookstore, that your Bibles were available at $1.00 each. God layed it on our hearts to put a Bible in the hands of each person coming through, but the giveaway was only three days away. After calling some friends and family, we were able to raise $1297 in just two days. We thought we had exceeded our goal by $97 and were trying to decide what to do with the extra money. When we went to purchase the Bibles, we realized that we had forgotten to account for taxes, which came to $90. So we actually had raised the perfect amount to purchase the 1200 Bibles, with just $7.00 left over. After two trips to deliver the Bibles, we went to the giveaway and personally handed them out. We had to quit about half way through the day due to the intense heat that day, but only half way through we had given out almost 400 Bibles. The people were extremely grateful. The Bibles continue to make their way out to world, through various ministries around the area. This was an awesome experience to be involved with to see God working. This would not have been possible without the Nelson Bible Challange. Thank you!

A couple years ago the Lord put upon my heart the the heart of my mother to begin doing more to bring glory and honor to Christ. We started a shoe-string ministry called the Shepherd's Servants. Our main focus was to simply get the True Word Of God out to as many people as possible who may have been searching for a long time for a way to approach God. We started running an ad in newspaper classified sections for "Free Items" and currently run the following ad: FREE Bible! Hear Jesus' Prayer For You. 255-7668 (rec. Mess.). We were able to get what they call in advertising a 'hotline' phone number where people call in to hear the recorded message and if they desire to recieve a free Bible they simply leave their name and address. We then send the free bible (we just ordered 100 of the Nelson Bibles and have been sending out the KJV Bible) along with a personalized letter introducing them to the Christian Faith, a message regarding the Bible as Truth and a postage paid postcard for them to send us any special prayer requests or if they would like to participate in a monthly Bible study through the mail, but most importantly we give them the opportunity to have us send Bibles to those in their lives they would like to have recieve a Bible. We once had a ministry call the message line and they send Bibles overseas and asked us if we had extra bibles so we sent their ministry over 100 Bibles. Since we started, January 2004, we have sent over several hundred Bibles just in our little corner of the world through a little Free ad in the local newspapers.

I would like to pass on a sincere thank you for allowing the Nelson Bibles to be purchased at such an affordable rate allowing ministries for Christ's Glory to shine brighter.

Thank you again. May God richly bless you in all your lives.
